The national museum is located in Bogota in the heart of the “centro internacional” over the “carrera septima” between the streets 28 and 29. It has been an important center of knowledge in Bogota since 1823, when it was founded, maintaining the conservation and divulgation of the cultural values in the nation, and of others.
By the pass of time it gained importance with other museums in Bogota, and reached international interaction bringing educational programs from other countries like bodies, which are very important for knowledge. Or expositions about other countries, like the Egyptian exposition which tought about there literature, history, monuments, pharaohs like tutankamon, etc…
It focuses in the national aspects it has a lot of expositions which explain our history, the history of the colonization, weapons used by the native Indians by Colombia in the past, the ships that the Spaniards use, the archeology of the different regions, the orfebrery and manufacturated artistic sculptures done by the Indians by different materials, al this knowledge for an accessible price and an unforgettable experience.
